ONEA 2016 College Scholarship Program & Application Information

PROGRAM DESCRIPTON

In keeping with the Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Association’s (ONEA) commitment to contributing to the health and welfare as well as the professional, personal and academic growth of its members and their families, the ONEA Executive Board is proud to request applications for two college scholarships. One $1,500 college scholarship will be awarded to a deserving dependent of an ONEA member who will graduate from high school at the end of the current academic year and who will attend an accredited college or university during the next academic year. Another $1,500 college scholarship will be awarded to a deserving dependent of an ONEA member who is currently a college student attending an accredited college or university and who will be attending an accredited college or university during the next academic year.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

In order to apply for the high school student scholarship, the applicant must meet the following qualifications: 

  1. Dependent of a current ONEA member;
  2. Current high school senior who will graduate at the end of the current school year;
  3. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 at the time of application, and;
  4. Applied to attend an accredited college or university upon graduation from high school.

In order to apply for the current college student scholarship, the applicant must meet the following qualifications:

               1. Dependent of a current ONEA member;
               2. College student attending an accredited community college or university, and;
               3. Cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or better at the time of            application.

EVALUATION AND AWARD PROCEDURES

The ONEA Scholarship Committee will review the application materials in May and will award the scholarship by June 1st. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the process in writing. The awarded scholarship funds will be sent to the recipient’s college or university financial aid office upon enrollment.
